Eloping in Banff is an incredible choice, offering breathtaking mountain landscapes, a day that’s focused on the two of you, and an experience you’ll remember for the rest of your lives. But if you’re starting to plan, you’re probably wondering: How much does an elopement in Banff actually cost?
The Short Answer: It can range from $5,000 to $15,000 CAD, depending on the experience you want.
Below, I’ll break down some of the main costs you can expect so you can plan with confidence and avoid any surprises along the way.

If you’re making it official, an Alberta Marriage license is about $40 and an officiant is $300-600 but can get higher if they hike or require travel fees.
A way to save costs on your is to ask a friend to become licensed for a day to marry you two!
I help my couples navigate this process whether they choose an officiant or a friend to marry them.
I also help my couples if they need witnesses so if you’re running away just the two of you, we can make it legal wherever you go!
Just travelling to Banff National Park can add up quickly when considering flights, rental cars and lodging. While you have options ranging from budget friendly to luxury in both Banff & the neighbouring town Canmore, you can expect to pay $200-$1,500+ a night for your stay, depending on the option you pick.
Car rentals are usually $100+ a day and flights differ based on where you’re visiting from.
Don’t forget you’ll also need a park pass for Banff for $24.50 a day (but if you’re here during the Canada Strong Initiative the parks are free!)

Depending on your style and designer preferences, attire for your day can range quite a bit from $500 to $7,000.
If you’re more of a lowkey bride, you can cut costs by thrifting a dress or finding a white sundress to take on your adventures, whereas some of my brides choose to go all out.
Another consideration are layers! You might want to wear base layers, shawls, jackets, boots, gloves etc depending on what time of year you’re choosing to elope.
I have packages ranging from $2,500 to $10,500 with my lower packages including planning & photography coverage to my more expensive packages that offer an all-inclusive elopement experience.
Professional photography can range depending on the hours of coverage, any additional add-ons and the experience provided.
When comparing packages, don’t forget to consider the full experience the photographer provides such as their planning & expertise, album credits, video coverage, etc

Florals such as a bouquet + boutonniere can be $150-$400 depending on the type of florals and how many florals you are envisioning.
Hair and makeup can range from $150 – $1,000, ranging on the higher end if more travel is required or an extra early start.
If you’re wanting to turn your day into a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you can always add an adventure! Some of the ideas I share with my couples are helicopter rides, canoeing, private dinners, horseback riding etc.
Depending on the experience you choose, it can range from $200 to $3,000+.
